Our entryway is in the process of being made over. I have a new mirror hung, a rug on the way…now all we need is some new lighting and we will be set. Our entry is not really conducive to a grand chandelier, so I am thinking a pretty pendant would be perfect.
Do you have a favorite? I have been eyeing the ones in the second picture for a while now.

cardigan, Chicago, layers, leopard, light, light layers, Michigan, packing, polka dot, scarf, sweater, vacation
Packing for a trip is no fun. It is always a reminder that I have absolutely nothing to wear, ever. Am I the only one that ever feels that way? Surely not. Trying to fit everything that I will need for 10 days in to one suitcase is just insane (pretty funny how us girls can totally have nothing to wear but then have the issue of fitting it all in one suitcase).
My husband and I are headed up to Chicago and Michigan. The forecast is throwing off my packing, since the expected cooler temperatures are foreign where we are. I think layers for the chillier nights will be my preference, as I am not quite ready to bust out my heavy jackets and sweaters…yet.

baked potato, burger, dinner, easy, easy dinner, fried, mac and cheese, Mexican
This week has already started off fast and furious! My husband and I are jetting off for a 10 day vacation starting Friday and I can hardly wait. Since this week will be filled with packing, laundry and cleaning the house, I knew I needed to plan some easy (but still delicious!) meals. {mexican mac and cheese}
{baked potato strips}
2 new potatoes, unpeeled and cut into strips
1/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp. hot sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
freshly ground pepper to taste
1 cup shredded mozzarella
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Place potatoes in a lightly sprayed baking dish.
In a small bowl mix milk, hot sauce, salt, and pepper; pour over potatoes and mix well. Bake, uncovered , until potatoes are tender and crisp, stirring once, about 45 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake until melted, about 3 minutes longer.
Enjoy!

inHappy Friday! I am so glad this week is coming to a close. My uncle passed away early this week, so it has been full of sweet memories and definitely some tears. Tonight my husband and I are going to take it easy. Since you can almost always bank on a movie theater being chilly, that sounds like an ideal plan for the evening. Have you all seen anything worthwhile?! Tomorrow we are headed on a short road trip to attend a wedding. Free food and booze is always alright with me 😉 I am still unsure of what I might wear…
I hope you all have a relaxing weekend!

inLately I have been craving a creamy, ice cold milkshake. I am sure it has to do with the record temperatures we are experiencing…or maybe it’s the fact that I have been depriving myself of sweets for a couple of weeks. Well, I say that stops today…and I also say that I am going to blend up this beauty as soon as I get home from work. I mean, I can’t think of a better combination for a milkshake than this chocolate chip cookie recipe below. The best part about a milkshake? It takes no effort, you just sit and sip!

August is already here, and with it comes a slew of weddings, events, dinner parties and get-togethers. I often find myself scrambling to find something to bring with me to show my appreciation to those who so graciously host us. Wouldn’t it be great if we all had a magical closet that was fully stocked with the most perfect host/hostess gifts?!
